Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States observed annually on November 11, for honoring military veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces or are still serving.
Today I sit here thinking about my Father, Uncles, Aunts, My Brother and Sister, my Son and Son In Law, my close friends, my fellow Brothers, and Sisters whom I served with many years ago, those who we lost over the years, and those who are serving now and in the future. Many of us chose while some were drafted and yet we took a step that caused us to choose the safety of others over ourselves.
We stepped into a service for our country that ultimately changed our lives forever, both mentally and physically. Serving in the Military is not a video game, it’s not a normal job, it’s a life commitment that you step into and it changes you in a way where life that many see on TV is nothing but a fairy tale. We see what people are being fed on shows that try to convince the average citizen on how to think and what to believe and we shake our heads because many of us have seen the real world.
We have seen the good, the bad, and the real ugly of humanity. We see the lack of honesty and the lack of compassion for humanity as well. But yet while we experience these things we also experience something that only certain people will ever get to experience.
We experience true Brotherhood and Sisterhood, real Unity where we would step in front of each other to protect each other. The experience where our military Brothers and Sisters become closer than family. We have done life together, cried together, shared all our secrets with one another, and been there for each other in some of the darkest times of our lives. We Love each other and there is an unexplainable bond that we all have with one another even if we have never met.
So today I say thank you for your service to all my Military Brothers and Sisters, you are all Heroes. Blessings and Love To You ALL!
