I am the one who had a home, but now I don’t. I had a job but now I don’t. I had a family who loved me but they are all gone. I have had many ups and downs in my life, more than I care to talk about. So I can imagine you are probably wondering who I am or who I represent. I am the homeless lady you saw last week, I am the homeless man you saw yesterday, I am the homeless teenager you tried to ignore as you walked by. Please don’t assume you know about my life just like I do not assume to know about yours. You see the thing is, businesses close, health issues happen, disasters strike and lifestyles are rocked overnight.
The thing is, we need a hand up more than a handout, what we really need is the compassion of caring individuals, who will pray for us, and show us the same love that Jesus did when He walked the earth. Matthew 25:35-36
35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
We need to be aware of those who we come in contact with, the ones we walk past daily. There are hurting people all around us, as I have said before and will never get tired of saying it, there are people all over the world who have no home, money, food, family or hope, pray for the Lord to give you the awareness of those around you each day and watch how you can impact their lives. Lastly please remember what Jesus said in the final verses of Matthew 25 in verse:
45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’
So in closing, I want to say go out and do for the least and allow the Lord to use you in ways that everyone’s lives will be blessed. God Bless You and Yours!
